This Policy describes how PixelWerks, Inc. collects, uses, protects, and retains information in connection with pwerks.com and the digital properties operated by PixelWerks. It applies to every visitor to the site. PixelWerks operates an informational website. We do not sell products online, we do not process payments, and no account is required to read anything published here. The information we hold is correspondingly limited, and this Policy describes it plainly.
The PixelWerks Governance Series establishes the policies, standards, and operating principles governing the company's digital properties and public-facing interactions.
Together these documents provide the legal and operational framework supporting the PixelWerks digital ecosystem while reflecting the company's commitment to transparency, responsible stewardship, security, accessibility, and respect for intellectual property.
Each volume is maintained under version control and may evolve as PixelWerks introduces new products, services, and digital capabilities.
PixelWerks collects two kinds of information: information you provide to us directly, and technical information recorded automatically when you visit the site.
Technical information includes your Internet Protocol address, browser type and version, operating system and device type, the page or source that referred you, the pages you viewed, and the date, time, and duration of your visit. This information is generated by ordinary web infrastructure and is recorded for security, reliability, and measurement purposes.
We may infer a general geographic region from an Internet Protocol address, typically at the level of country, state, or metropolitan area. We do not collect precise location data, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from technical information alone.
We do not collect payment card information, financial account details, government identification numbers, biometric identifiers, or health information through this website. If a product or service in the future requires information of this kind, it will be governed by terms published for that product or service, and this Policy will be revised before collection begins.
Certain areas of the site allow you to contact us. These may include a general inquiry form, a media inquiry channel, an investor relations channel, a partnership channel, and an interest list for company updates.
Information submitted through these channels typically includes your name, your electronic mail address, your organization, your country or region, and the content of your message. A telephone number may be requested and is optional. You decide what to provide. Where a field is required in order for us to answer you, it is identified as required.
We use this information to respond to you, to maintain a record of the correspondence, and, where you have asked to be kept informed, to send occasional updates about the company and its work. We use it for no other purpose.
PixelWerks does not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade, or otherwise make personal information available to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information except to the service providers described in this Policy, where you have directed us to, or where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect the rights and safety of PixelWerks or others.
PixelWerks uses analytics technologies to understand how the site performs and how it is used. Analytics tell us which pages are reached, how visitors arrive, which devices and browsers are in use, and where in the world our audience is located in general terms.
Analytics are read at the level of aggregate patterns rather than individual behavior. Identifiers assigned by analytics technologies are pseudonymous, and PixelWerks does not combine analytics data with information you have submitted through a contact channel in order to construct a profile of an identified person.
Where an analytics technology offers Internet Protocol address truncation, reduced data retention, or equivalent privacy controls, PixelWerks enables them.
The site uses cookies and comparable technologies for three purposes: to operate the site and keep it secure, to measure how it is used, and to remember preferences you have set.
Cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function are used without consent, as permitted by law. Analytics and preference cookies are used in accordance with the choices available to you through the controls provided on the site and through your browser.
Volume IV of the PixelWerks Governance Series, the Cookie Policy, describes each category of cookie in detail and explains how to manage them.
PixelWerks engages third-party service providers to operate the site. These providers supply hosting, content delivery, security and traffic filtering, analytics, form processing, and electronic mail delivery.
Service providers act on our instructions. They are permitted to use information only as necessary to perform the function for which they were engaged, and they are prohibited by contract from using it for their own purposes. We review the practices of the providers we engage and select them with the standards described in this Policy in mind.
PixelWerks does not permit advertising networks to place tracking technologies on the site for the purpose of targeted advertising, and does not participate in cross-site advertising exchanges.
The site may link to websites operated by others. Those sites are governed by their own privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to read them.
If you write to us, we will use your electronic mail address to reply and to continue the conversation you began. If you ask to be kept informed about the company, we will send occasional updates.
Every update we send includes a means of unsubscribing, and an unsubscribe request is honored promptly. Withdrawing from updates does not affect our ability to answer a question you have asked us, and we may still send communications required by law or necessary to inform you of a material change to the documents in this Series.
We do not send communications on behalf of other companies, and we do not make our contact records available for that purpose.
PixelWerks protects information through encryption of data in transit, controlled and limited internal access, authentication requirements for administrative systems, monitoring of the site for unauthorized activity, and review of the service providers who process information on our behalf.
The most durable protection is restraint in collection. We hold what is necessary for the purpose at hand and no more, and we delete what is no longer needed.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and PixelWerks does not represent otherwise. In the event of a security incident affecting personal information, we will act to contain it and will provide notice to affected individuals and to regulators as required by applicable law.
Correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to address the matter it concerns and to maintain an accurate business record, and thereafter for the period required by applicable legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.
Contact information provided for company updates is retained until you unsubscribe or ask that it be removed.
Technical and analytics data is retained for a limited period and is then deleted or reduced to a form that does not identify an individual. Server and security logs are retained for a shorter period appropriate to their purpose.
PixelWerks reviews its holdings periodically and deletes information that no longer serves the purpose for which it was collected.
PixelWerks honors the following requests from any visitor, without regard to where that visitor resides, and without charge:
Requests may be sent to privacy@pwerks.com. We will take reasonable steps to verify that a request comes from the person it concerns or from someone authorized to act for that person, and we may ask for information sufficient to do so. We respond within thirty days, and will tell you if a request requires additional time.
In limited circumstances we may retain information after a deletion request where retention is required by law, necessary to resolve a dispute, or necessary to enforce our agreements. Where that applies, we will say so and explain why.
PixelWerks does not deny service, degrade service, or treat any person differently for having exercised a right described in this Section.
The PixelWerks website is directed to a general and professional audience. It is not directed to children, and PixelWerks does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen, we will delete it. A parent or legal guardian who believes a child has provided information to us may write to privacy@pwerks.com, and we will act on the request promptly.
PixelWerks is incorporated in Delaware, operates from Scottsdale, Arizona, and hosts the site in the United States. Information collected through the site is processed and stored in the United States and may be accessible to our service providers operating there.
The privacy laws of the United States differ from those of other countries and may afford different protections. If you access the site or submit information to us from outside the United States, you do so understanding that the information will be handled in the United States under this Policy.
PixelWerks applies the standards described in this Policy to every visitor, and the rights set out in Section 9 are available to every visitor regardless of residence.
This Policy is version controlled. Each revision carries a version number and an effective date, and the revision history is recorded at the end of this document.
We will revise this Policy as our products, services, and digital properties develop. Where a revision materially changes how we collect or use information, we will post notice on the site in advance of the effective date. Prior versions are available on request.
Continued use of the site after the effective date of a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
